AnJi is famous as the China Bamboo Home. Its bamboo forest occupies 1/4 of total amount of China. The biggest Bamboo Museum built by the World Union just locates in Anji. And there is the largest quantity of bamboo products and enterprises in it. It is famous for better quality and kinds of bamboo products.
Bamboo naturally grows up to 40 feet height in 60 days. It can be used continually without destroying the natural environment. The local government, the peasants and even the factories must obey the rules--- only 6 year-old bamboos are cut down when they are old enough to be made into bamboo boards, while in other areas bamboo forests are cut down at one time though they are only 2 or 3 years old. So the areas here are kept evergreen.
Because of its special geographical mountain soil, Anji bamboo is more denser and stable than other areas'.
